DotNetNuke® Corporation, producers of the highly acclaimed open source web application framework for the Microsoft platform, today announced that the product has been honored with the 2007 Editors Choice Award from Visual Studio Magazine as part of their annual Readers’ Choice Awards. The full list of winners, which appears in the June 2007 issue, is chosen by Visual Studio Magazine’s readers and honors excellent software in 22 development categories. The Editors Choice Award is a special designation given to products which show “special merit or innovation.”

Patrick Meader, Visual Studio Magazine editor in chief, said, "The Readers Choice Awards are special because it is an accolade from the person most qualified to say whether a product is great: the person who uses it. These aren’t managers voting, but developers—developers who use these tools on a daily basis to simplify their lives and create better software at a lower price. As such, there is no better recommendation for the value of a given company’s product.”

In capturing the Editors pick, DotNetNuke® becomes the successor to the 2006 Editors Choice recipient, Microsoft’s SharePoint Portal Server. For 2007, DotNetNuke® is also proud to share honors with Microsoft’s Expression line of products, which includes Microsoft Expression Blend and Microsoft Expression Silverlight.

“It is a true honor and privilege to be chosen as a beneficiary of the 2007 Visual Studio Magazine Editors Choice Award," said Shaun Walker, DotNetNuke® Corporation Co-Founder and CEO. "After 4 years, 440,000 registered users, and over 3.5 million downloads, DotNetNuke® continues to offer exceptional value and innovation to developers on the Microsoft platform. We look forward to making an even stronger connection with our user community at the DotNetNuke® OpenForce ’07 conference, co-located with DevConnections in Las Vegas from November 5-8, 2007.”
